Committee Chairs

The Eastern District of Wisconsin Bar Association (EDWBA) provides opportunities for involvement through its committees. Committees typically meet monthly. Below is a list of committees with brief descriptions.

Bankruptcy
The Bankruptcy Committee represents the needs and concerns of the bankruptcy bar, often working closely with the bankruptcy bench. The committee plans CLE seminars and bench-bar luncheons that address these needs and concerns.

Civil
The Civil Committee represents the needs and concerns of the civil bar. The committee plans CLE seminars and bench-bar luncheons that address these needs and concerns.

Criminal
The Criminal Committee represents the needs and concerns of the criminal bar. The committee plans CLE seminars and bench bar luncheons that address these needs and concerns.

Membership
The Membership Committee’s main goal is to increase membership in the association by reaching out to those newly admitted to practice in the Eastern District as well as those who could benefit from membership. To accomplish this, the committee works closely with other committees.

Newsletter
The Newsletter Committee has the responsibility of publishing the quarterly electronic newsletter. The committee is responsible for story ideas and identifying the appropriate people to write the stories.

Pro Bono
The Pro Bono Committee undertakes new pro bono initiatives with the goals of increasing the number of attorneys willing to accept pro bono appointments from the court, ensuring that attorneys are adequately trained to do pro bono work, and to explore new initiatives to assist pro se litigants.

Program
The Program Committee oversees the association’s calendar of CLE seminars and bench-bar luncheons. The committee also takes responsibility for planning the Annual Meeting held in April.
